Failure is a fundamental part of the process of learning and development, but it is often penalized in school and other achievement situations. This makes many young people fear failure and avoid situations where they might fail, even if they are interested in the topic. In this 30-minute Lunch & Learn, Santa Clara University Professor and U-Thrive Educational Services Key Contributor Dr. Tim Urdan will help us reconceptualize failure to see it as an opportunity for personal transformation and growth, rather than a barrier, and discuss ways that learning environments can shift from penalizing failure to using failure to promote growth.
